There comes a time when we begin to consider that life may not always be smooth sailing.

One day, we may get seriously ill.

One day, we may become injured in a way that keeps us from continuing as we have been living.

How do we face this new view of our future?

What can be set in place now so that later can be easier?

So we won't have to scramble to figure out a new kind of life in the midst of big change?

Raven’s Call can help you face all this.

And plan beforehand for the possibilities.

Together, we create a customized plan for your needs as they change.

I help you understand what you can set up now for smoother aging and an easier experience if health changes start to cause significant difficulties.

I provide support for you – and those who care for you – as you age and through the end of your life. Or I help you arrange for support from those in your circle, from community organizations, and from medical providers.

Plus, I can help you with some of these tasks or connect you with others who do this work.

You decide how much or how little of my services you want. You can reduce or increase your spending limits as things change for you.

For yourself

You may be facing a life-changing illness now. Or you may be looking ahead, ready to start planning in case it happens.

I can help you understand the path ahead of you, the choices you may face.

And there's much more to your life than illness or injury - let’s look at that, too.

For your parent

I can help you sort out your parent’s needs, and get you both set up so you can focus on your future together instead of playing catch-up.

Whether you’re living in the same area as your parent (or other special person), or dealing with this remotely, understanding what you're up against can help both of you immensely.

For caregivers

Being “the person next to the bed” can be harder than being the one in it.

Let’s gather your resources – some you don't even know about – and make a plan, so you can use your time and energy for the best results. And remain healthy in mind, body, and spirit as you help your person through this difficult time.

I have 30+ years of professional experience supporting and informing people as they plan for aging, face serious illness, and approach dying. As they care for others going through these situations. As they grieve.

What questions can I answer for you?

How can we work together to make things easier for you - now and later?

Please get in touch to get the information you need to decide whether my services could be useful for you.

Hi. I’m Marcella (she/her cis). About three decades ago, my dear aunt’s last illness and her death ushered me into a career where my compassionate heart, my interest in people and their stories, and my desire to ease fear and suffering put me on a path to help people grapple with the “D words” we so often don’t want to talk about: Death and Dying.

I volunteered at my local hospice, drove hundreds of miles for trainings, and was hired by that hospice. After a while I returned to college to earn a B.A. focused on life changes, loss, and grief. From there, I did clinical graduate work in supporting people facing life-changing diagnoses (including terminal illness), along with the people surrounding them. (And clinicians, but that's another story.) Along the way, I’ve worked and volunteered for non-for-profit hospices, worked for a regional medical organization comprised of multiple hospitals, and had a private practice providing this care – until the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns closed my business.

Since then, I’ve moved to a small town on the south Oregon coast, learned to farm on a 40-year-old organic farmstead, and restarted my private practice on a smaller scale. I’m now poised to help people throughout Oregon in person or remotely.

In addition to myriad trainings in these fields through the decades, I’ve earned the Certified End-Of-Life Specialist (CEOLS) designation from Teaching Transitions. I’ve successfully completed The Peaceful Presence Project's Rural Oregon End-of-Life Doula training course. And I’ve completed the Aid-in-Dying Training for EOL Doulas developed by Academy of Aid-In-Dying Medicine (formerly American Clinicians Academy on Medical Aid in Dying, or ACAMAID). Plus, I’m a member of the National End-of-Life Alliance (NEDA).

I'd thought that the pandemic retired me, but this profession keeps calling me back. I want to help people relax about facing the end of being in their body, and all that leads to that final breath. The fact that you’ve made it this far down the page tells me you have something I can likely help you with. Please get in touch and we'll explore how that can happen. ~Marcella
